Medical Plans

Baker Hughes provides you with three Medical plan options so you can select the one that’s right for you and your family.

For all states except Hawaii, we offer three Medical plans that provide quality health care and 100% coverage for in-network preventive care. Each plan has the predictability of an annual deductible and the security of an out-of-pocket maximum.

Medical plan changes for 2024

  • As of January 1, the Premium HSA plan deductibles are increasing to $1,600 for individual coverage and $3,200 for family coverage. This is to comply with IRS regulations.
  • You can view the 2024 medical plan comparison chart here.

The Medical plan you choose determines:

  • The amount of coverage you receive.
  • When you pay for care. (For example, in the Standard Plan, you’ll pay more every pay period than you would in either of the HSA plans. In the HSA plans, you have lower per-pay-period costs and pay more when you receive care).
  • The type of health care account available to you.
  • Your Prescription Drug coverage.

Network providers

Our Medical plans allow you to receive medical care through the UnitedHealthcare (UHC) network of physicians, specialists, hospitals, and clinics at pre-negotiated fees, which are usually lower than you’d pay outside the network.

Eligibility is determined based on your home address on file. You cannot elect an Out-of-Area Medical plan. If you are eligible for an Out-of-Area Medical plan, it will be displayed as an option when you enroll in your benefits.

Medical coverage outside the U.S.

The UHC Medical plans provide coverage at the network level for emergency services received outside the U.S. If you need to seek medical attention while traveling outside the U.S., pay for the services out-of-pocket and then file an International Claim Form with UHC for reimbursement. You can get the International Claim Form by calling UHC at 1-866-743-6549 or 1-866-802-8572 (worldwide).

Where to get care

When you need care, call your primary care physician or family doctor first. Your physician has easy access to your records, knows the bigger picture of your health and may even offer same-day appointments to meet your needs. When seeing your physician is not possible, however, it’s important to know your quick care options to find the place that’s right for you and help avoid financial surprises. Go to Where to Get Care for more information.
