We are thrilled that you've joined the Baker Hughes team! As you begin your career here, you’ve got a lot to do. So, we want to make getting your benefits started as easy as possible. This webpage has information to help you enroll in your benefits. 

You must enroll in or waive your Health & Protection benefits within 31 days of your date of hire. The benefits you choose will be in effect as of your date of hire and remain effective through December 31, 2024, unless you experience a Qualified Status Change.

If you have questions about your benefits: Health & Protection representatives are available Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to7:00 p.m. CST. 401(k) representatives are available Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m.to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST.

New Hire Checklist

Here’s a benefits checklist to help you keep everything straight as you enroll in your benefits. 

Choose Health & Protection coverage for you and your family. 
Enroll or waive your Health & Protection coverage within 31 days of your date of hire.
Have your dependents’ Social Security numbers on hand.
Enroll in the 401(k).
Confirm your elections.

For your Health & Protection benefits, you will automatically receive an emailed confirmation statement and a confirmation statement will also be mailed to your home address on file for your records. If you find any errors, contact the Baker Hughes Benefits Center immediately. For the 401(k) Plan, you will receive a mailed confirmation of your first enrollment election.

If you don’t take action, you will be automatically enrolled in the following coverages:
  • Standard PPO Medical Plan (Employee Only coverage) for employee who live on the US mainland
  • Options PPO Medical Plan (Employee Only coverage) for employees who live in Hawaii
  • Basic Life and AD&D Insurance
  • Short-Term and Core Long-Term Disability Protection
  • 401(k) Plan at a pre-tax contribution rate of 3% of your eligible pay with an automatic increase of 1% annually, invested in a Target Date Fund based on your estimated retirement age

You will not be able to make changes to your Health & Protection benefits until the next Annual Enrollment period, unless you experience a Qualified Status Change (like having a baby or getting married). You can change your 401(k) contribution at any time.
